An Honourable East India Company Naval Officers Coatee button 1830-55
A very rare small closed back button from an officer’s full dress naval coatee. Made by Firmin, London. Complete with shank to the reverse and displaying the design of a fouled anchor beneath the HEIC rampant lion all within a roped border which ceased to be used after the Indian Mutiny. Very good condition retaining virtually all its original fire gilt.
