A 2nd or Queens Bays Officer’s Cabinet Photograph on Porcelain

A very pleasing unusual cabinet photograph of an officer in the 2nd or Queens Bays Dragoon Guards circa 1890’s. The black and white portrait has been chemically fixed on to a porcelain plaque by means of a photographic emulsion painted over the plaque and then exposed to light and fixed in a bath in the normal way. Sadly it has not been possible to identify the sitter who is shown half length in his pill box hat and black melton patrol jacket.
The plaque has been framed in a contemporary leather work frame made by Walter Jones, 195 & 196 Sloane Street. The frame can either be shown free standing or hanging from a wall space depending on your personal preference.
In very good condition although the frame has some minor abrasion marks at some of the edges which do not generally detract from the overall appearance.
