A Victorian Officer`s 17th Lancers Chapska Plate circa 1880

The Royal Coat of Arms in silver ( white metal ) is mounted on a gilt rayed backing plate showing light wear to the high points of the plate. The Royal Arms sit above a skull and cross bone devise with the motto or glory, on either side are battle honours for Alma, Inkerman, Balaklava and Sevastopol. Below this is a ribbon with Seventeenth Lancers.

In very good condition with minor signs of wear to some of the high points, the silver has tarnished slightly but is very crisp with strong lettering and bold characters. The reverse is age dirty.
