The Sutlej and Punjab pair to Lt. Archibald S. Galloway 3rd Bengal Light Cavalry

A very rare three bar Sutlej and two bar Punjab group of medals to Lt. Archibald S. Galloway, 3rd Bengal Light Cavalry and Deputy Acting Quarter Master General in nicely toned untouched condition.
The Sutlej medal with three bars for Ferozeshuhur, Aliwal and Sobraon commemorating the various campaigns that formed part of the first Sikh war from December 1845 to February 1846. The medal is indented in capital letters to Lt. A.S.Galloway 3rd Reg LC and is extremely rare in this combination. The rivots are original and contemporary to the medal and the medal also retains its original silk ribbon.
The Punjab medal has two bars for Googerat and Chilianwalla commemorating actions in the second Sikh war from September 1848 to March 1849 and is named to Lt. A.S. Galloway D.A.Q.M.G Bengal Army in impressed Roman capitals with its original silk ribbon.
The recipient has not been researched but is noted in the 1847 East India Register and Army List as having joined the 3rd Regiment of Bengal Light Cavalry on 12th November 1842. As such would make for a fascinating research prooject.
Overall the medals are in toned EF condition with one or two very minor edge knocks prevalent.
