41st or Welch Regiment of Infantry Grenadier Company Bearskin Grenade
A 41st or Welch Regiment of Infantry Grenadier Company officer’s tall bearskin grenade circa 1830 comprising a large fire gilt grenade with the Arabic numerals for 41 within a laurel leaf wreath.
The reverse retains fixing lugs and wire for attaching to a flank company bearskin. There is good evidence of fire gilt overspill and the grenade is in overall very good condition with the loss of a small portion of a flame at 12.00 o’clock.
Late Georgian flank company grenades are extremely rare and therefore this represents a rare opportunity to acquire a very rare badge.
