2nd Queens Royal Regiment of Foot Officer’s Shoulder Belt Plate

A 2nd or Queens Royal Regiment of Foot Officer’s Shoulder Belt plate worn between 1830 – 1855 and comprising a gilt burnished back plate. In the center the paschal lamb in silver over the Arabic numeral 2, both which sit on a blue and green enamel ground within a fretted garter strap with red enamels and with a silver crown above. The garter enclosed by a large laurel wreath interwoven with eight battle honors and a Sphinx with a tablet beneath stating Egypt.
The reverse retains its original hooks and studs for attachment to a baldrick sword belt and has a leather liner. God evidence of gilt overspill to the reverse. Overall a very pleasing shoulder belt plate in very good condition.
