47th or Lancashire Regiment of Foot Shoulder Belt Plate

A 47th or Lancashire Regiment of Foot officer’s shoulder belt plate worn between 1830 and 1845 and comprising a gilt burnished back plate with the design mounted in silver of an eight pointed cut star on which rests a laurel wreath with a lion on a crown above.
In the center is a strap with the word Lancashire and the Roman numerals XLVII and a rose below with battle honor ribbons for Peninsula, Vittoria , San Sebastian, Ava and Tarifa.
The reverse of the plate retains its original hooks and buttons and what appears to be a replacement leather liner. There is good evidence of gilt overspill to the reverse and is age discolored but overall in very good condition.
