33rd or (1st Yorkshire West Riding) Regiment of Foot Officer’s Shoulder Belt Pla

An Officer’s 33rd or (1st Yorkshire West Riding) Regiment of Foot shoulder belt plate worn between 1830 and 1855 and comprising a matted gilt back plate with a raised burnished edge. A silver (white metal but almost certainly sterling silver) garter strap with the regimental name topped with a QVC crown and below two battle honour ribbons with Seringapatam and Waterloo. In the centre is a laurel wreath with the Arabic numerals 33.
The reverse retains its original leather liner and good gilt overspill. The back plate retains its hooks and buttons for attachment t a buff leather sword belt.
Overall in very nice condition with only minor wear to the high points and good gilt detail.
