19th (1st York North Riding) Regiment of Foot Officers Shoulder Belt Plate

A 19th (1st Yorkshire North Riding) Regiment of Foot officers shoulder belt plate worn between 1840 and 1855 comprising a gilt matted back plate with a lined edge. On the obverse a silver eight pointed cut star with a roped strap in the center with the roman numerals XIX over a green enamel engine turned ground and topped by a QVC crown.
The reverse retains its original hooks and buttons and shows good evidence of gilt overspill and age discolouration.
An extremely attractive belt plate in very good condition.
